A designer driven by curiosity, storytelling, and emotion; my work spans branding, logo design, publication and package design — often combining mixed media and thoughtful narratives to create bold, poetic outcomes. Introduction to typography---famous old typesets and calligraphy; practicing in copying them to understand the mechanics of their development.

Copying established typesets and re-creating based off precedent designs.

Trying to create typeset with my own rules.

Choosing a favorite serif and sans-serif typeset and creating off of that for each.

Vectorizing it on Illustrator and playing with point sizes to see how it looks large and small.

I wasn’t satisfied with the design so I tried by hand again and again.

Transferring it to the Glyphs software which is better for creating typesets. Experimented in coupling it with a background that exudes the soft country feeling I wanted viewers to feel with my type.

These letters were lasercut to create a word so letterpressed prints of it could be made.

The Prints:

V-carving it onto wood and adding 2 colors from a set palette; I chose the colors that best captured the light country life feel---bright blue skies and vibrant red rose bushes.
