Syntactic Coding

Color: Using 3 main colors: warm red, cool green and and cool black. The warm red signifies danger, the cool green portrays safety and black is the standard color of the abaya.

Shape: The red colors the background while in the foreground there is a green shape resembling a shield.

Structure: Everything is kept in the center and has symmetry making it easy to notice and the focus.

Semantic Coding:

The shield and its green color symbolizes a safety system portraying its protective nature, and the covered woman is inside which, when put altogether, says that the woman feels safe/protected wearing the abaya. The standard color for the abaya is black, hence the choice of her covering.

The shield is in the foreground to show that she, when covered, feels protected despite the many kinds of dangers present in the world which is depicted by the red background. The red encompasses the whole background and isn’t defined because the danger isn’t just one specific thing or kind.
